Both early teen marriage and dropping out of high school have both been associated with a variety of negative outcomes, including higher poverty rates throughout life. Marriage is good but not for children who are yet to be matured and equipped with all the necessary knowledge, wisdom and strength to handle the affairs of the family. There are so many negative effects that are associated with teen marriage which ranges from poverty, divorce, stealing, adultery, mental illness and lack of access to quality education etc. Parents are therefore advised to do all they can to prevent their children from going into teen marriage as this will truncate their destiny fulfilment.

Below are the few ways to avoid teen marriage;

1. Parents should enhance their children's access to education and keep them in school. Education can prevent a child from going into teen marriage.

2. Parents should always give their children the necessary orientation on the role and worth of women.

3. Parents should also set a standard for their families on what age their children must get to before thinking about marriage.

In conclusion, parents are advised to please be watchful and always know the kind of friends their children keep as this will play a vital role in the actualization of their destinies.

Say No to Teen Marriage and Yes to Quality Education.
